Book Review – VIP by M. Robinson

3 Jan
Title: VIP
Author: M. Robinson
Genre: Erotica
Publication Date: December 4, 2013
New Synopsis
The beginning- A point in time or space where something starts.
32 year old Sebastian Vanwell, was a very successful yacht broker, who always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious yacht. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving child hood with a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life. The one person that he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession, that was until he saw her. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn’t control no matter how hard he tried.
Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. Coming from worlds apart, beautiful, dark complexion Ysabelle Telle didn’t have the rich, protected background that Sebastian Vanwell had. Ysabelle lived a life of hell, in poverty, growing up with a drug addict mother that never cared, and horrific living conditions. Ysabelle lived for one person and one person only; herself. She was pure perfection, her beauty along with a flawless body had men lined up, driveling over her insuring her success as a VIP.
There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.
Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and drug use. Intended for mature audiences.

New My Review

I received a copy of this book for my honest spoiler free (I tried my best 😉 ) review.

I really enjoyed reading VIP. Life and relationships are not always peachy; we are all only human and make mistakes. If you believe yourself to be perfect then more power to you but the reality is, that’s just not true.

It really is hard to express my feelings about this book because it’s 2 different stories that collide and form one. And when I say collide I mean shit hits the fan.

VIP begins with the upbringing of a boy and girl. They live in two different worlds. We have Ysabelle Telle, a child who really had no one looking after her. She lived in the ghetto with a mother who only had her for the welfare check the state provided. A mother who did not care about her or her wellbeing. Ysa ran away from home and ended up in Miami at the young age of 16.  Her story broke my heart. Children only want to love and be loved and she received nothing from her mother.

Some of the choices she made were disappointing. BUT again in life we make decisions and whether they are good or bad you learn from the experience. In the end I really liked who Ysa became. I loved that she came to terms with everything she went through and eventually learned to be happy.

Sebastian Vanwell had everything he could ever ask for, a loving family, a best friend Julie (Babygirl) who he ends up marrying. He would do anything for his Babygirl and because of this some of his choices pissed me off! WOW, there were things this man did that had me shocked.

Ysa works for VIP as an escort and while at an event she bumps into Sebastian, literally. And from that moment Sebastian is hooked. But he’s happily married?

The events that take place after they meet though wrong I found to be realistic, Robinson did a wonderful job! No woman wants to be cheated on or be a mistress and most men who find themselves is such a predicament are either greedy bastards or don’t know what they want. Someone always gets hurt but being honest with yourself and everyone involved allows all parties to move on.

I enjoyed the writing style. Robinson really got down deep and I felt that how the plot played out showed that she understands how and why act and react the way they do. The emotions I felt from reading this book was unreal.

I would definitely recommend this book.

New Synopsis

Mira’s broken and battered. She’s fighting to put herself back together while her heart is trying to forget. Can she continue moving forward with one man while in love with another?

Skylar’s wrestling demons he never imagined in his wildest dreams. The girl he’s been in love with for years finally has feelings for him. There’s only one problem: her heart might lie somewhere else. How long until his will power shatters?

Who will seize Mira’s heart and never let go? Will these feelings ever go away or will they be an AWAKENING?

New excerpt

I continue to giggle all the way down the hall and into the elevator. As soon as we hit the elevator, the proximity of Skylar to my humming body really hits home and I feel a sudden wave of arousal. I haven’t felt this way since I woke up, not even with Danny. Glancing over at Skylar, I can see him fidgeting around.

As I’m looking at him, he turns to face me, and I can see the arousal in his eyes. He casually licks his lips and shoves his hands into the pockets of his jeans. I smile and turn back to face the front of the elevator. I have him right where I want him.

When the elevator descends to the first floor, I’m smacked in the face with the gravity of my reality. Danny is waiting for the doors to open, with a huge smile on his face. Glancing back to Skylar, I see that he’s been smacked just as hard. Skylar’s Adam’s apple bobs in his throat, like he’s trying to swallow his feelings, and moves past me toward Danny

New My Review

Where to begin with this one…lately I’m finding it extremely hard to find the words to express how much I loved a book. Ashley Suzanne is a rock star! I have recommended this series to family and friends and they all come back to me saying “that book was a total mind fuck!” 🙂 Before Awakening even came out I was getting threats on my life from these people who supposedly love me LOL < – –  this is how good Ashley is!

Awakening begins right where Mirage left off. Therefore, my heart returned to its broken state. Mira is confused by her feelings towards Skylar. She will always love Danny but can she go on without the one man she knows is the one for her? Skylar fights his feelings for Mira the best he can, for how could he move in on his best friends girl?

Will these two come to their senses and be together???

I’ll pose a question; can someone truly move on from one relationship to another without serious contemplation? Without making sure the person you were has in fact beyond a doubt changed? I think not, and in this aspect Ashley nailed in on the head. OMG while reading this book I was on edge the entire time. I was scared of how it would end. My heart can’t take anymore breaks it in. Emotional rollercoaster is a damn understatement. My family calls me “heartless” well from Mirage to Inception and now Awakening I have felt more than I thought possible from a book.  Happiness, sadness, grief, longing, pleasure, pain and then right back over to HAPPY!

I’m not going to tell you who she chooses but I was say I was so damn happy!!!!

Over all this was such a good read. Not only do we see the changes in Mira but also in Danny and Skylar. And since the book is written in each POV you get to feel everything they do. It was awesome! I also loved the tie-in with The Rebel Walking series by Hilary Storm (loved those books). OH and we also get a sneak peak into Kylee’s story. I cannot wait for more from such an amazing author and person!

New excerpt

It was hard to sleep; I was tossing and turning more than ever before. The butterflies in my stomach were in full force as I recollected about each kiss Jason gave me; on my lips and on my bare skin. My thoughts were interrupted as I heard the beeping on my phone. I saw the light illuminating my room as I reached over to grab it; it was a text from Jason. I was suddenly extremely grateful I let him plug his number into my phone after we left the garage earlier today.

Are you asleep yet?

How could I be sleeping? His lips just rocked my world; my heart was racing too much to be sleeping.

Not a chance.

Me either.

I put my phone down and got out of bed. I didn’t know what else to do so I let my body decide. It would have argued with my brain either way. I let my infectious craving for his lips guide me downstairs to his room as I quietly crept to his door.

I took a deep breath and tapped on his door. He swung it open immediately as if he knew I was on the other side. The room was dimly lit, but I could see just enough. He was standing there in nothing but boxers; I couldn’t help but look him up and down from head to toe. His mouth was open and his breathing was heavy as his chest rose and fell quickly, matching mine. It didn’t take long for the hunger inside to take over. He stepped forward and grabbed a hold of me, pulling me close to him as he took us over to his bed. I didn’t know where we were going to take this tonight, and quite frankly, I just didn’t care; all I knew was I needed to be with him. It could have been Jase, it could have been my hormones, but every part of me was craving his touch. I got a taste and I needed more.

“Cassie,” he whispered.

“Shhh,” I whispered back. I put my finger over his mouth. I didn’t want to hear what he was going to say, we had done enough talking for the night.

I stepped up closer to him, raising myself on my tippy toes so I was closer to his lips as I pressed mine hard against his. I heard a small moan escape him as he tangled his hands in my loose hair, pulling us onto the bed.

We fell onto the bed and I positioned myself with my back against it as Jason hovered over me, his arms on either side. I took my hands, placed them on his scruffy face, and pulled him closer to me. Somewhere between being pulled onto the bed and Jason hovering over me, our lips had lost each other; this was not going to work for me. I didn’t even have to pull hard as his lips curled up and lowered down to my face. “I’ve never seen you like this Sweetheart,” he whispered into my ear as he nibbled on it.

I was sure a soft moan escaped my lips as he took my ear into his mouth. “I’ve been holding it in,” I told him.

“I can tell,” he said quietly before running his lips down my neck then into the curve of my shoulder. It was making me shiver from my neck all the way down to the aching spot between my legs. He was trailing his way down my neck when I suddenly realized I needed to take off what was keeping him from continuing further down.

“Wait,” I breathed out. Jason lifted his lips from my skin as I wiggled my arms enough to slip off the cami I was wearing, throwing it to the side of the bed. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath.

“Damn Cassie, you are going to be the death of me.” He opened his eyes back up, piercing them into mine. I needed more.

“Please keep going,” I begged him.

“You don’t have to beg, but it’s so damn sexy when you do,” he said softly as he brought his lips back to my skin, taking his time as he moved further down to my bare chest. He slowly grazed his lips across each breast before making his way down, trailing kisses until he got to the top of my yoga pants. He was driving me wild; I was having a hard time not ripping all my clothes off. This was not normal for me, but I loved every moment of it. He was bringing out a side of me that hadn’t existed before, and I hoped it didn’t go away.

I grabbed his upper arms and rolled us over so I was on top of him. I could feel that this was just as good for him as it was for me, as his excitement was sitting between my legs.

“Enjoying yourself?” I asked in the sexiest voice I could find.

“You have no idea. Now get down here,” he said as he pulled me down to his lips, biting down on my lower one before smiling and finally pressing our lips together again. Kissing him was what I always imagined it should feel like. Not wanting our lips to ever be apart because they felt too good pressed together. I knew deep down kissing had to be that amazing or people wouldn’t be so passionate about it. I completely understood it now and I could finally say the feeling happened to me. Jason, he made it happen, he was the spark that lit my lips on fire. I couldn’t help but go insane inside as his lips continued to kiss me like his life depended on it. I slowly released my lips from his and began placing kisses on his chin, running them all the way down from his chest to the very top of his boxers. I slowly raised myself up and loved seeing the satisfied grin plastered on his face. I put my hands on his shoulders and caressed them all the way down, feeling his chest form goose bumps as I did. I took my index finger and traced a line along the top of his boxers, making a soft moan rumble through him. I lowered myself back down on top of him; his hands grabbing my back as our bare chests collided together. I leaned my mouth close to his ear, whispering into it. “I know you green light this.”

That must have sparked something in him because I heard a growl escape his throat as he rolled us back so he was now hovering over me once again.

“Just so you know, I’m not this guy. I’m not normally the guy who has a hard time controlling himself. You seriously have me going crazy right now,” he said with a heavy breath

“Just so you know. I like it.”

New My Review

OHHH EMMM GEEE I have been dying to share my review of this book! WOW it was just so damn good.

Here goes…

Two strangers going through the motions of life but not really living. Cassandra’s parents who love her in an odd manner have bread her for nothing less than perfection. Jason had lived a hard life. He is young and selfless but sees pity in the eyes of those who surround him. Two complete opposites going through similar yet different situations, come together and an amazing love story blooms!

“The term ‘away’ comes in many forms and phrases. Get away, stay away, far away, go away, went away and move away but the term that best fits my situation…run away.”

Some details…

We start off with Cassandra (Cassie) racing to meet up with her best friend Mel; hoping that she can help her find a resolution to a mistake she made. She’s lived a hard life, not because of money but because of her parents who are extremely hard on her and its been an emotional toll on her. On the drive she gets into a really bad car accident then fate steps in, in the form of a humbled good looking man named Jason. Talk about swoon! Jason (Jase) steps in to care for this woman he doesn’t know and when he looks into her eyes all he wants to do is protect her. With Cassie’s car a wreck and no where to go; Jason steps up and offers her shelter his home.

In a short period of time Cassie and Jase find a connection they can’t seem to ignore. They find themselves eager for the next day even going through personal battles.

“People become too reliant on having the world at their fingertips. Enjoying the moment and not knowing what’s going to come next, that’s the real deal, Cassie”

These battles or secrets they have are ones they are not ready to share. And when the circumstances of these secrets were shown to me I was like holly hell!!! I felt like I got slapped. Talk about a turn of events.

So many emotions…sadness, hope, longing, anger, fear, love and grief. All this wrapped up in a bundle of words that left me wanting MORE! B.A Wolfe has some major talent. I felt everything and I may have even teared up a bit! <- – this doesn’t happen!!!!

This story was basically about self discovery. Learning who you are, what you want in life, who you can trust and overall how to open your heart and love with everything you’ve got. The ending was extremely sad but leaves room for that HOPE I mentioned earlier.

I bet you’re wondering “WTH is she talking about? What type of review is this?” Well if you follow my blog you know I will not give you more than I’ve already said. I refused to spoil any book and this is a book you must read and experience everything first hand. This is a book you will devour in a very short time. This is a book that will leave you so torn you will need a few days before starting a new one. BUT it is also a book I think and hope you will LOVE!

Did I give the book the justice it deserved probably not but I hope I intreguied you enough to make you want to purchase this baby!

B.A. Wolfe, I would like to congratulate you on an amazing job on your debut novel. I will definitely be stalking you! 😉

” It was about us, two strangers finding friendship and love in a crazy situation, and in the end, what I ended up with was our story.”

New author bio

B.A. Wolfe is a girl with a passion for reading and writing, and lives in the good ol’ state of Colorado with her husband (her biggest cheerleader), and her two crazy min pin fur babies. These days, her life is anything but calm, and there isn’t one thing she’d want to change. B.A. spends all her free time either furiously typing stories on her laptop or happily reading through her endless TBR on her Kindle. Her list of favorites would be long enough to fill a book, but most would likely fall under the romance category. She is a sucker for a good love story that makes her cry, and an amazing book boyfriend who will melt her heart. ‘Away’ is B.A. Wolfe’s debut novel.

New My Review

I came across this book and jumped at the chance to read it due to all the amazing reviews and recommendations from fellow bloggers. I do not consider myself an emotional person and I am not one to cry but after buying it and hearing how some people responded to it I prepared myself with a box of tissues just in case.

Living Again was OMG such an emotional rollercoaster and though I did get teary eyed there were no waterworks. What can I say, I’m weird that way! 😉

So here’s a bit about the characters…

Kayley Carson’s life was nothing but perfect. Supportive family, cute home, a job she loves, amazing husband and a baby on the way. Who could ask for more? Now this isn’t giving anything away because as it says in the synopsis “Then one day, her life changes forever when she loses her husband in a tragic accident.” <– This was a tough part to read. WOW the way Collins wrote the devastation Kayley was feeling was that of perfection! I really did feel like I was the one going through the loss. To think that her unborn child will never meet his/her wonderful father was heart shattering! After the accident she goes through the motions of life the best she can but she doesn’t really live. All she can do is try her best to raise little Alexis the best way she can.

Her life once again is about to change, but will she be receptive to these changes and “Live Again?”

On Alexis’ first birthday Kayley finds herself rushing to the same hospital where her husband passed. She and her entire family were scared out of her minds because Alexis has had a seizure. This scene was intense, I was getting palpitations! The fear that Kayley feels jumps off the pages. But Lex turns out to be fine and is kept overnight just for observation.

Then we meet Dr. Ben Nichols… because while in the ER Kaylee never really noticed him she was that freaked out. But once they meet eyes there is no way to deny the instant connection. And the love story beings!!

Living Again was such an amazing story. When you think you’ve met your soul mate and he’s ripped from your life unexpectedly one can’t help to think life is over. But then again there are no guarantee’s in life. As in real life there are so many ups and downs. There are tears of heartache and tears of joy. There are moments of doubt and moments of certainty.

This is where I stop with the details.  In my opinion this is a must read love story and if I keep writing I’m going to give it all away! L.L. Collins congratulations on such an amazing debut novel!! I cannot wait to see what comes next!

Book Description

Publication Date: July 22, 2013
It’s a difficult time in America. Several years of attempted economic and social fixes have failed. Its major cities have reached a tipping point whereby any disaster, manmade or natural, would have devastating consequences. America is no longer seen by its friends or enemies as the “land of the free and the home of the brave.” Washington bureaucrats are involved in every decision and political correctness rules the day. The country that used to, only a few short years ago, project its military might outward to the world, has had its own military forces striped to the bone. No service has felt this impact more than the United States Navy. With only a fraction of combat vessels left to patrol the world’s oceans and keep peace in the world, decisions are no longer based on safety and National Security but by financial necessity. With most of its once mighty Navy staying in port, and the remainder stretched thinly across the globe, America’s enemies now have different words to describe America; weak…and very vulnerable.

Guest Post

Some hobbies I enjoy are gardening and tinkering in my shop. I have been working, for the past several years, on developing a way to have a year round garden. It has been a challenge and if last night’s hard freeze is any indication, it proved that I still have a long way to go. In the summer months I enjoy working in our vegetable garden and with my orchids and other tropical plants. As the weather turns colder, I work very hard just keeping my tropical plants alive and well.

As far as “tinkering” in my shop goes, let’s just say that encompasses a great many things! This would include, but is not limited to, listening to loud music, working on my computer, projects for the house or just messing with my three large dogs. In the summer months the shop is a beehive of activity without the time consuming organization constraints of a beehive. Summer weather, travel, kids and life in general hamper efforts to keep the shop very well organized. Historically, during the winter months, I’ve attempted to rein in the chaos and get everything organized. I say “historically” because now I have this new time consuming inside hobby…it’s called “writing.”
