31 Jul

After a long stressful day I thought i would share some links to some free books. Who doesn’t like free things? And not just any free thing, a free book! A place to take you away from all the stress, a place where you can get lost and completely DISTRACTED from everything eating away at you.

These are some books I came across that are currently free and look interesting. I will be adding these to my “to read” list.

Book Review – The Evolution Trilogy by David Estes

21 Jul

Since my page is new I will be starting off with some old and recent reviews of some  books I’ve read from an author I personally think is AMAZING!

I happened to come across author David Estes via a Goodreads group called David Estes Fans and YA Book Lovers Unite! Everyone was ranting and raving about how well he writes so I couldn’t help but see for myself. I mean why else do we use sites like Goodreads if not to find out about new authors/books?

I have read all available books for the following three series Evolution Trilogy, The Dwellers and Country Saga.

Lets start off with Evolution Trilogy:

Angel Evolution (The Evolution Trilogy #1)

Book Description

Publication Date: October 29, 2011
Angel Evolution- the first book in the young adult fantasy trilogy: The Evolution Trilogy… When Taylor meets Gabriel at college, she is in awe of the subtle glow that surrounds him. No one else, not even her best friend, seems to notice. Something about him scares her. Is all as it appears? While Taylor struggles for answers, she finds herself in the middle of a century old war centered on one miraculous revelation: evolution.

My Review

I really enjoyed reading this book. I rather enjoyed the fact that the angels and demons were not based on religious/biblical aspects. Every character played a perfect role in the events that were presented. Talk about emotional roller-coaster!

Quick little summary:
Taylor is a laid back non-attention seeker heading to her first semester of college. And while at college her world changes. She meets a gorgeous boy who comes in and sweeps her off her feet. Gabriel, who happens to be an angel and rather quickly becomes her boyfriend. Gabriel tells her about his heritage but everything he tells her are lies. That the angels want to protect the humans from the demons and that they need her help.

She not only falls for him but her for her. And even though she really cares for him deep down she senses something is off. All the lies Gabriel tells soon catch up with him and he doesn’t know how to get out of the jam they are in.

There is way more to this story then what I have written and I highly recommend you give it chance.

Over all this was a very unique story and i’m glad I gave it a chance

Demon Evolution (The Evolution Trilogy #2)

Book Description

Publication Date: October 29, 2011
Demon Evolution- the second book in the young adult fantasy trilogy: The Evolution Trilogy… Spreading darkness… Guilty of treason for which the penalty is death, Taylor’s angel boyfriend, Gabriel, has been captured. The fate of the world sits on a knife’s edge, with Taylor being the key to everything. Taylor’s aura is growing stronger, but will it be enough to save Gabriel and defeat the Archangel Council.

My Review

Where to being with this review…

I first must say that I totally and completely LOVED this book!! It was far better than the first book. The characters truly have “evolved” is every way. There was no lack of suspense, humor or any lovey-doveyness. Every page I turned just made me never want to stop.

In the midst of the battle between Angel and Demon, Gabriel sees the errors he has made and goes against everything he’s been taught since childhood. And why do you think he did this? Because he feel in love! He gets captured and that’s where the fun beings. This book also let you see how much the relationship (of each of key character) has grown. i.e. Taylor and Gabriel, Sam and Chirs and I can’t forget the odd couple Kiren and Sampson!

I highly recommend it!

Archangel Evolution (The Evolution Trilogy #3)

Book Description

Publication Date: October 29, 2011
Archangel Evolution- the third book in the young adult fantasy trilogy: The Evolution Trilogy… The battle concludes… While Taylor is still getting used to her evolution, the Archangel Council has uncovered a bold new secret, one that will allow them to finally defeat the demons. Dionysus has a new deadly apprentice, hell-bent on eradicating the human race. Can Taylor master her newfound abilities to finally end the Great War, once and for all?
My Review

I will not provide any spoilers, I will keep this simple…. it was AMAZING!!!!

Archangel Evolution did not disappoint, a prefect way to end this trilogy. Once again there is non-stop suspense and this time more action as Taylor begins to hone in on what she has become and what she is capable of. A true archangel stronger, faster and good of heart.

Each character plays a key role in stopping this war that was started for selfish reasons. And they played there parts nicely. Everything was written very well. Throughout this trilogy I was never confused; everything that was written made perfect sense and flowed nicely.

I was left thinking that there is a possibility for more books due to a few loose ends, David for instance or even Sam for that matter but I will let my imagination roam!

I am so sad that its over!

If you think these are book you think you will enjoy and want to purchase clink of the name of each individual book and you will be forwarded to the amazon page for each individual book.
