My Review

StarStarStarStar

If there’s one thing I need to enjoy a book, it’s to go through what the characters are experiencing. To read the words on the pages and feel every emotion, be that joy, trust, fear, surprise, anger, grief, despair, anticipation or love. For me Water was captivating in so many ways. And boy did I feel the emotions! Harmony writes so well the emotions jumped off the pages!

First of all this cover is AMAZING! The suspended drop of water is just so magical and alluring I just knew I had to read it. And then when I started I didn’t want to put it down. Harmony throws us into a world where Kaitlyn Alder discovers who and what she is. She is ignorant to the power she has and the journey to the discovery is fascinating.

The use of “elemental magic” reminded me of The House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast, minus the vampires! LOL But I loved Harmony’s take on the “elemental magic” and how each character played a special role in Kaitlyn’s life.

This book is focused on “water” and how the team can use there abilities to fix any environmental issues. And like just like water in the ocean, river or a lake the story flowed, it twisted and turned and crashed down. At times leaving my heart beating rapidly! There is a lot going on but I wasn’t lost, which is always a plus!

I think the characters were written well, we are given enough background information about them but there are still unanswered questions. Good thing this is only the first book in the series!

Micha is a like-able guy but I felt that he was unsure of how to handle his feelings and his position as her Katie. Alex and Susan were really good supporting characters. Cato was an odd ball; he’s another one that you couldn’t get much on. :/ And then there’s Shawn…I disliked him from the beginning and hated him in the end.

Overall, it was a good read filled with action, drama, romance and some dark jaw-dropping need to take a 5 minute break scenes. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series!
